Day trip - Turda Salt Mine and Village Museum Cluj
Our day trip will start with a visit at the Salt Mine in Turda - a museum of salt mining and treatment facility for various respiratory diseases. First documented in the 11th century, but believed to have been exploited even during the Roman occupation, the Salt Mine has been recently rehabilitated - it was reopened in January 2010, after approximately 2 years of renovation. More information about the salt mine can be found here.

After the refreshing and cooling visit at the Salt Mine, we will lunch at Motel Gilau, next to the lake with the same name. Hopefully it will be sunny outside so we can enjoy the patio and the lake.
The afternoon will take off with a visit at the open air Village Museum - The National Ethnographic Park "Romulus Vuia". The museum exhibits farmsteads and monuments of traditional architecture from 9 different counties in Romania. More information about the Village Museum here.
In the last part of our day trip we will enjoy some sightseeing in Cluj-Napoca.
